Conceived in the late 1990s, it was felt that the family working farm could work harder and smarter – and boy does it do that today!
Family means everything and if you need further proof come and meet the three generations of Farmer Palmers’ – Dave (Farmer Palmer snr), son Phillip (Farmer Palmer and regularly seen doing the milking demo) daughter Sandra who adores planning the future with Phillip, marketing and guaranteeing the quality of your day out. The third generation is represented by James (apprentice chef in a fantastic kitchen) and Pippa who assists with pony rides and is learning the business.
In over 20 years, this attraction (if you are 8 and under you are in luck) has been a favourite of mums and dads, kids, grown kids and their children – what a cunning business plan to let your customers (whom they refer to as ‘clients’) breed your new customers! Genius!
Talking of breeding not only does the family breed success, but cares for all shapes and sizes of farm and domestic animals including ewes and lambs, pigs and piglets, chicken and chicks, ponies, alpacas, goat kids, calves, deer and fawns. This year they even took in a rescue two-day-old Roe Deer fawn (named Bambi, of course) who was saved from a road collision and is doing well back stage at the farm park.
So if you are looking for attention to detail, quality and variety, Farmer Palmers will deliver a safe environment in which your little VIPs can explore, learn, develop, laugh, feel secure, express love towards the vast array of animals (think Noah’s Arc and add some) and just be happy – as little ones should. There is no pressure, stress or limit to what they can enjoy in the fresh Dorset country air.
Not only is this a healthy place to bring the children, the Palmer success is based upon solid foundations with their
healthy reinvestment plan. Currently, they are working with Nick and Peter, who created The World of Dinosaur Roar www.dinosaurroar.com/about, and collaborating with the National History Museum to educationally enhance Farmer Palmer’s already enchanting Woodland Walk, in 2020. The Woodland Walk is a treasure waiting to be discovered, so make sure you explore the fauna and flora when you visit.
In terms of customer to client relationships there is actually a waiting list for their Bump2Baby Pass designed as an introduction to the farm park and especially for last trimester mums or parents of little ones under 9 months. What a great idea, they realise this special time is actually still all about your enjoyment! Their website is cute, informative and their newsletters help you get ahead of the game and be in the know.
Their thoughtful commitment to their audience, from toddlers to grandparents, makes this a stunning place to bring your children – and your children’s children – repeat to fade...
And if you don’t believe us just look at the ratings on TripAdvisor and Google Reviews – they make for great reading.
