Improving on a cultural landmark and international brand is somewhat of a challenge! But such a challenge is something that The Hilton Brighton Metropole took in their stride and in a seamless transformation, and with the support of an incredibly professional, strong and committed team – and a £29m budget – this classic hotel became Double Tree by Hilton Brighton Metropole!
Not quite, but nearly overnight!
And talking of overnight, the Enjoy team were flattered to be part of the launch celebrations during an overnight stay which saw the spirit of Brighton’s streets come literally into the hotel’s splendid conference facilities,
The event was a collaboration between Double Tree, Brighton’s colourful street food and drag scene and E3 Entertainment.
Over 150 guests participated in a night of proud presentations, classic drag acts, a host of fairground attractions, including a full- size Dodgems track and stalls of street food and entertainers!
The hotel’s own Met Bar provided a fantastic choice from the welcome drinks to the main bar – Brighton Gin, wines, beers, Cordoniu ’Zero’, Cookie Cocktails and all accompanied by authentic street food; sushi, vegan choices, finger fish and chips, charcuterie, wok specials and what fairground would be complete without a shooting range, bumper cars and candy floss?
The fun of the evening could have overshadowed the main event which is of course the hotel’s pristine refurbishment and re-brand.
The reception is a long warm welcome area flanked by lifts, the restaurant and jazzy bar. A pair of winging staircases take guests up to the conference and function rooms and there on up to the sixth floor the bedrooms and suites are faultlessly refurnished, designed with modern and minimalist touches with comfort front of mind.
The Enjoy-It team inhabited a fifth-floor double room with bathroom, and shower, all with sea views as far as the eye could see.
All the public areas are pristine and fresh, yet the character of the building has been retained inside and out.
They say the sun shines on the righteous – and it beamed down throughout the celebrations. Brighton is the epitome of a seaside town that boasts the best of what makes a British tourism magnet.
The beaches are clean, the streets lined with boutique shops and independent restaurants and cafés. And the locals are as welcoming as any in the land.
Double Tree by Hilton has successfully partnered the local community spirit with a global brand which represents equality, assurance and consistency in quality.
We enjoyed a memorable night of entertainment and food, a dreamy night in a most comfortable bed, deep carpets, a sun- drenched early morning swim followed by a hearty and piping hot Full English breakfast in the room overlooking the English Channel.
What a superb and well positioned re-brand – the hotel stands out along the sea front in every way including service, proposition and quality – partnered with real value for money.
