To keep it fresh it’s all about new ideas coupled with tradition, and owners, chef, hosts and above all delightful Severine and Fred have certainly got that balance right!
Completing the top team is front-man Sebastien, a welcoming face and wine connoisseur who can charms anyone with his smile, knowledge and joie de vivre!

is an almanac of French classics and local catch with vegan and vegetarian choices. There are Brownsea oysters naturally served or deep fried, giant cold prawns, scallops, escargots, double baked soufflé, tartiflette, steak tartare and French onion soup – it’s a show case of all great French dishes!
Mains include skate wing, flambéed in Pernod, lemon sole, turbot and Dover sole. The pièce de résistance is the Poole lobster and Wye Valley Tsar smoked salmon – it’s heaven!
Séverine is everywhere – she doesn’t stop, and her delightful way is as intoxicating as a chilled Champagne! Sebastien is attentive and friendly with his wine
choices; the young team keep checking that all is well
- naturellement! One can also enjoy Fred’s expertise in the preparation and cooking of meat – the Dorset rack of lamb cooked to perfection, there is also a traditional bœuf bourguignon and fillet to choose from.
The interior of the restaurant is set on two levels facing south over the bustling quay. The bar is busy and bursting with cocktails, beers and the wine list impressive as one would expect, and there is a 16-cover function room that can be integrated into the restaurant or shut away for guests to get deliciously up to no good!
The overall impression of St Tropez is one of confidence and satisfaction. It’s a family business and there is respect running through the very heart of the restaurant which is palpable in every drink, dish and exchange with the team, it’s a great way to dine.
